Turmeric—we love it in curries, soups, lattes, even cocktails. Not only does it add a beautiful golden colour and a tangy, layered flavour, but it also has many health benefits (thanks to the chemical compound curcumin), from its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant-rich properties to its ability to boost our immune systems and lower our blood-sugar levels.

And even beyond ingesting this powerhouse spice, applying its oil topically can do wonders for the skin.

One of the exciting ingredients in our new After Oil sore muscle blend (along with Peppermint, Eucalyptus, Black Pepper, and more), turmeric has the ability to stimulate circulation, protect from free radicals, keep skin soft, and help reduce swelling, redness, dark spots, and inflammation. Its antibacterial and antimicrobial properties also help keep skin clear, making it great for sweaty limbs—and thus a key component of After Oil.

Turmeric also has a lovely warming quality, making it so soothing and comforting for tired muscles. Used for centuries in India in ayurvedic medicine, it’s basically skincare’s golden ticket.
