A Note From Our Cofounder
We were drawn to One Girl Can because their model is so unique. They provide mentorship and education for girls in Africa, starting in high school and continuing through university, up until they are earning a salary in their chosen field. One Girl Can’s administration costs are fully funded through sales from founder Lotte’s for-profit business, AG Hair.
This model, along with their give-back program is one of the more unique development models Sara has seen having worked in Africa. Also, every education that is pursued must be in STEM (science, technology, engineering, or mathematics), which helps break the cycle of poverty.
